Get to Know our New 2024-2026 Directors!

We asked our five new Board members to tell us why they are excited to join the ICF Toronto Chapter Board. Here is what they have to say:

Sam Jayasundera (she/her)
Co-director Membership

My background is in global HR and Talent Management with an EDI lens. I have been a member since March 2022. Coaching has transformed my life and along with my professional experience, I want to add value, evolve ICFTO and make meaningful change.

Kiyasha Naidu
Co-director EDI

As a South African native, I've navigated the intricate path of my homeland's history, from the challenges of apartheid to the promise of democracy, witnessing both division and unity. These experiences have deeply shaped my understanding of diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice. As an immigrant and naturalized Canadian, my journey has led me to profound self-discovery, further intertwining with these themes. Throughout my career as a Project Manager, focusing on Leadership, Culture, Coaching, and Mentoring, I've remained driven by a steadfast commitment to these principles, both personally and professionally.

Having officially joined ICF TO after acquiring my PCC last March, I now take accountability in stepping up as Co-Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at ICF Toronto. My focus and commitment lies in empowering our community, weaving a harmonious tapestry of cultures, talents, and perspectives, ensuring it radiates as a beacon of excellence and value for all our stakeholders. As I embark on this role, I'm eager to collaborate with fellow board members, and our community, to champion the principles of DEIB, driving positive change and creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for all members to thrive.

David Peterson
Co-director Membership

Joining the ICF Toronto board provided an amazing opportunity to create greater value, purpose, and belonging for members. It's an honour to support fellow coaches, give them a voice, and support them on their journey in their coaching practice and with attaining new credential levels. Together, we can create, maintain, and foster a community at ICF Toronto where members can thrive both personally and professionally.

Denise Prindiville
Co-director Marketing & Communication

My professional background is in Corporate Strategy, Market Access, Marketing and Communications, and Governance. I joined ICF TO in April 2019, when I was an executive coaching student. Now, five years later, I look forward to contributing all my expertise into building a sustainable chapter for our rapidly growing community, and to expand and enrich our experience as ICF affiliated coaches.

Komal Smriti
Co-director Learning & Development

I joined the Toronto chapter within a few months of coming to Canada as an immigrant. Dealing with a deep identity crisis, I landed in one of the chapter events in Toronto and immediately I gravitated to the warmth, friendliness, and joy shared by the board members.

Through my journey of volunteering and collaboration (that began with a selfish desire to make my own space) I found people and relationships that inspire me and invite me to do more, to give more. And I just follow those elders, and let myself be led. This new role and new journey is not of leading chapter members but letting myself be led by a purpose bigger than me or my desire. So, the learning continues.
