Ethics in Coaching with the Co-Active Training Institute

Hope Langner, MS, CPCC, MCC
Kristen Bentley, CPCC, PCC

ICF Connecticut (ICF CT) welcomes the NE Region to Ethics in Coaching with the Co-Active Training Institute, co-hosted by ICF DC, ICF Atlantic, and ICF NE. We appreciate that ICF Toronto and other chapters are invited to this session.

Please note the time of this event: 8:00 to 10:00 A.M. Feb. 24, 2023

Join us for this "giant think tank" of discussing and delving deep into the whole arena of ethics. We will introduce important definitions and distinctions that influence one's perspective around ethics. As coaches, we shape the profession of coaching. How we conduct ourselves impacts how the public perceives the coaching industry. Through our experiential time together, using case studies and examples, we will equip you with tools to explore ethical concerns, including those that lack clear-cut answers. Our aim is that you come away from this program empowered to courageously find your way forward with curiosity and ethical integrity.

Learning objectives:

  • Establish an individual and personal sense of professional ethical conduct
  • Make distinctions between morals, values and ethics and why that is professionally important in coaching
  • Name key factors (the warning flags) and distinctions in the identification of potential professional ethical issues and how they impact the field of coaching and the public at large
  • Leave with more questions than answers and know where to get answers when needed
  • Respond to ethical issues with greater courage, confidence and clarity
