Equine Mindfulness Retreat: Connecting Through Nature!

We will spend a day together at Sierra Acres, located in Rockwood ON, engaging in a variety of Mindfulness and Compassion based practices focused on promoting our well-being through interconnection. Mindfulness is a way of paying attention to what is going on inside of us and around us in the here and now. Nature provides a wonderful opportunity to be fully present, to slow down, to pay attention and to connect. During this retreat you will learn ways of attending to your own needs in a kind and caring way within a supportive and nurturing environment. Our time together will be supported by facilitated interactions with the animals that live on the farm in particular the horses.

In equine assisted learning, there is a focus on wellness, taking a holistic approach to improvement in physical, social, emotional and cognitive functioning. Horses mirror our energy patterns and blind spots; behaviours that can stop us from moving forward in life or from moving into our own authentic self. Horses show us that to be effective in our daily lives, we must un-mask any internal frustrations and conflicts that may be preventing us from moving forward.

This retreat will be an interactive and experiential event to engage your senses. Everyone is welcome, whether you have been practicing for years or are just beginning your journey with Mindfulness and Compassion.

When: Saturday September 14 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
